Handfasting Ceremony

One of the oldest wedding traditions in the world, the handfasting ceremony dates back to ancient Celtic customs and is where the expression "tying the knot" originates.

During the ceremony, your hands are gently bound together with ribbons or cords while you exchange vows or promises. Each ribbon can represent a value that's important to your relationship—such as love, trust, friendship, loyalty, or adventure.

It's a beautiful visual symbol of your commitment and a wonderfully meaningful ritual for couples who want to honour tradition while creating a ceremony that's deeply personal.

Wine (or Whiskey) Capsule Ceremony

During this ceremony, you place a bottle of wine—or your favourite whiskey—into a wooden wine or whiskey box along with letters you've written to one another.

The box is sealed during your wedding and opened on a future anniversary, giving you the opportunity to relive your wedding day and celebrate how far you've come together.

It's a wonderful reminder that love, like a fine wine or whiskey, only grows richer with time.

Sand Ceremony

Using two different colours of sand, each of you pours your own into a single glass vessel.

As the colours blend together, they create a beautiful keepsake symbolising two individual lives becoming one. Just like your marriage, once the sands are combined, they can never truly be separated.

Unity Candle Ceremony

Together, you each take a lit candle and use the two flames to light a single larger candle.

This simple yet powerful act symbolises the joining of your lives, your families, and the shared future you are creating together.
